About me
Sociologist and political scientist, with masters degree studies in Communication and Cultural Studies. Born and based in Ecuador, she is an activist in the field of ICTs for development and social justice. She is a former civil society member of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group of the Internet Governance Forum and one of the founders of the regional internet governance meeting and process in Latin America. She has facilitated civil society engagement in internet policy processes since the WSIS and is an active participant in various regional and global fora. Her work as the manager of the Communication and Information Policy Programme at the Association for Progressive Communications (APC) focuses on the areas of internet rights, internet governance and access to the internet. She received a Life Achievement Award from LACNIC in 2012.
